EXPLORING THROUGH PEDAGOGY; THE EFFECT(S) OF SPEAKING STRATEGIES ON THE ORAL PROFICIENCY OF LEARNERS IN THE CONTEXT OF BALOCHISTAN

Abstract

The present study seeks to explore the effect of speaking strategies on oral proficiency of learners in the Context of Balochistan through pedagogy. Researcher undertook speaking strategies to study their effect on oral proficiency of English language learners and to find the difference between result of experimental group and control group in post-test. The researcher focused on only one aspect of oral proficiency; Fluency. Since researcher focused on fluency; it further includes filled and unfilled pauses taken by participants during speech. The study undertook experimental research design and 50 participants for study were selected from NUML diploma spoken skill classes. SPSS based paired samples test was applied for data analysis. Result of study concluded there is no significant statistical relationship between teaching through speaking strategies and enhancement of oral proficiency (fluency).
Results also suggested positive relationship between role-play story re-telling strategies and enhancement in Fluency
