SURVEY THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT AND THE COGNITIVE AND METACOGNITIVE STRATEGIES ON NURSING STUDENTS

Abstract
Cognitive scientists confirm on the role of learning strategies in advancement of learning. On the other hand the findings have indicated the effect of EQ on promotion of learning, this study survey the relationship between EQ and learning strategies. In this research cooperated 114 nursing students. They answered to Bar-on questionnaire and the questions that survey the approach of students to learning strategies too. Findings indicated that the most of them tend to repeat and practice manner and often urged to programming. Results demonstrated that the often have a moderate EQ. The relationship between EQ and approach to all meta cognitive strategies was significant. This means the students that obtained higher score in EQ more used to meta cognitive strategies. But in cognitive strategies only the organization had a significant relationship with EQ. This study showed that emotional intelligence can increase the level and quality of learning by making better use of learning strategies, especially metacognitive strategies.. Because emotional intelligence can be enhanced by training and exercises, as well as its positive impact on other aspects of people's lives, learning this skill is important for everyone, especially for students
